12x16, Watercolour on Mounted on Cradled Panel, 2024
As I enjoy my weekly breakfast with my husband, John, he recounts the story of another man he went through recovery with who has passed away. John, now more than a decade free from addiction, is one of the few still standing. Many of his peers have either relapsed or been lost to overdose or suicide. Theres a part of him that has a survivors guilt, knowing that there were many peers who were worthy and deserving of the second chance and a free life he now lives.
Juried into the in the 2024 On The Edge Exhibition held at the prestigious Federation Gallery, Vancouver, BC.
